The character Pyro was also given a large update.
Additionally, the update has cosmetic changed such as "War Paint," which allows players to customize their weapons.
There are also five fan-made maps added with the update. That day, Valve released an animated trailer for Mercenary Park, a jungle-themed, in-house made, three-control point map (shown below). On October 17th, 2017, Team Fortress 2 began unveiling a massive update called the "Jungle Inferno" update that would take place over the following four days. Valve announced that the game would be free-to-play through their Steam digital distribution software on June 23rd, 2011. In August of 1998, the development team was hired by Valve to port the game over to the GoldSrc engine as Team Fortress Classic. The original Team Fortress was developed as a fan-made mod pack for the 1996 first-person-shooter Quake.
